The North Fork has been renown for centuries for its beauty, and in particular, its light. Unsurprisingly it has been a mecca for artists of all sorts. While art galleries and studios dot the entire length of the North Fork, Greenport has the greatest density, making it easy to stroll from one to the next. Starting this Friday night, and continuing for each First Friday through December, six of Greenport's Galleries welcome you from 6-9 pm, greeting you with artists, collectors, exhibits & refreshments. But it won't be only the galleries; several stories will stay open late too, so you can really enjoy Greenport as a whole. Head to Greenport Harbor Brewing's upstairs gallery--they're kicking off a new show--the South Street Gallery, Gallery M, Nova Constellatio Gallery, The Sirens' Song Gallery, and Hector deCordova Studio & Gallery. The art on exhibit ranges tremendously in style and media, and each gallery is small enough to make visiting them all a joy rather than overwhelming.
Beyond the art galleries and the many restaurants and bars open, you can also take advantage of special hours to browse Burton’s Books, Clarke’s Garden, Kessie & The Weathered Barn.
