Greetings new readers from the New York Times Travel Show! We hope you enjoyed our Coffee Pot lighthouse, crafted by Patricia Walker, artist in Southold and farm stand and cabinet crafted by Dan McAllister of In the Attic Too, and huge HD TV showing North Fork scenes, including the pie and cherry trees of Wickham's Fruit Farm. You are some of the more than 1,000 people who stopped by to chat and pick up literature, and more than 800 of you entered the raffles offered by our generous local businesses.
At 5 pm Saturday we awarded five lucky people VIP Tastings for Two at Pindar; the winners were:
Violeta Hernandez, Larry Gould, Daan Wallis, Johnathan Wolpert, and Kathy Howitz. We look forward to seeing you!
Our generous local businesses offered many other raffle prizes, which we combined into one giant getaway package, which one very very lucky person won at 4 pm on Sunday:
One night at each Heron Suites and Shorecrest B&B; gift certificates for dining at First and South, Hellenic Snack Bar & Restaurant, and Goodfood; two bottles of Lieb Cellars wine and two bottles of T'Jara; plus gift certificates to Harbor Pet and Burton's Bookstore.
The very very lucky winner was Stephanie Vermillion, who has a romantic anniversary coming up and thought she might make the getaway her contribution to the celebration.
The day before the Travel Show we hosted a "Fam Tour", guiding five travel writers and travel agents to many North Fork attractions and businesses, including some mentioned already (Pinar, Heron, Shorecrest, Wickham's). In addition, we were hosted/supported by Little Creek Oysters, Front Street Station, Salamanders on Front, Aldo's, Sweet Indulgences, The Village Cheese Shop, Roanoke Vineyard, Agora, the little Greek Market, the Primetime 3, the Alex Ferrone Gallery, and the Jedidiah Hawkins Inn.
Everyone had a great time.
Thank you all!
