  • Peconic Landing: Harbor Bells: English Bell Choir Directed by Valarie Bellz, Greenport. Traditional holiday favorites performed live by a unique musical group. A great way to get in the spirit! Members of the Harbor Bells have been performing together since 1993. In April 2006 they became a community English handbell choir and have been entertaining and inspiring audiences on the North and South forks since that time. 7:30 – 8:30 pm. Details.

  • Group for the East End: Pine Cone Feeders, Cutchogue. Join Group for the East End as we help feed the birds by making pine-cone feeders to hang around the preserve.   • Group for the East End: Come Meet the Animals! Cutchogue. We welcome our friends from Quogue Wildlife Refuge who will introduce us to a variety of animals that live at the QWR at Downs Farm Preserve. Students will learn the personal history of each animal and why it lives at the refuge, as well as the special adaptations these animals have. Come meet a reptile, mammal, bird of prey, and some creepy crawlies. This is a great hands-on experience for kids of all ages. 11 – 11:50 am. Details.

  • VSOP Projects: Reading with Anne Sherwood Pundyk & Poppy Johnson, Greenport. Please join us at 2pm on Sunday, December 17th for a reading by Anne Sherwood Pundyk and Poppy Johnson as part of VSOP Projects’ current Winter Salon exhibition. Pundyk, a painter and writer who lives and works in New York City and Mattituck, will be reading a collection of short fables that she has written and paired with her abstract paintings, a selection of which are on view in the show. Johnson, a performance artist and the Assistant Director/Reference Librarian at Greenport’s Floyd Memorial Library, will be reading from her collaborative work called, “26 Typewriters or Talk ‘Til Your’re Blue in the Face: An Abecedarium.” Both artists will be available to discuss their work after the 1 hour program. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. 2 – 3 pm Details.
  • The South Street Gallery: Annual 10 x 10 Art Show, Greenport. Once again, The South Street Gallery is providing artists with 10×10 cradled birch plywood boards. Each work will be sold for $100; 25% of each sale going to the gallery and the remainder split between the NFEC and the artist. Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical is staged for the first time at the National Theatre and broadcast live to cinemas. New York, 1971. There’s a party on the stage of the Weismann Theatre. Tomorrow the iconic building will be demolished.
