Saturday check out Klassic Rewind at Sound Bistro or head to Pindar Vineyards for a Champagne, Chopin & Caviar tour. Meet author P.L. Seawright at Clovis Point’s Wine & Book pairing event. Sunday head to Southold Opera for La Boheme, or RSVP for a Luncheon Gallery Talk at Alex Ferrone Gallery with artists Roz Dimon, Colin Goldberg, Han Qin. The Custer Institute has fun stargazing events and lectures all weekend as part of the 2017 Custer Astronomy Jamboree!

Friday 

  • Hallockville Museum Farm: Nuno Felted Autumn Shawl Riverhead. Learn the techniques of Nuno felting. (“Nuno” is Japanese for “Fabric”). This technique was developed in the early 90′s and combines raw wool with a loose or open weave material in order to create a light weight fabric. Students will create a beautiful shawl out of organic cotton OR silk. Students will email instructor in advance to their desired color palette ahead of time. 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Details.
  • Little Creek Oysters: Friday Night Bites- Oysters and Pintxos at Little Creek Greenport. Starting at 7pm on Friday we'll spread the counter with a dizzying spread of skewered small bites, pour crisp cold wines and beers and wash away the week together! Of course our shuckers will be opening the finest our bays have to offer! 7 pm. Details.

Village merchants will be offering animated evenings of gallery events, extended shopping, and activities in our historic maritime village.   • William Ris Gallery: Sherri Wolfgang's "Nick-E-Lo-De-An," Jamesport. Sherri Wolfgang's newest series was inspired by the earliest movies which were short, flickering images creating the illusion of motion. As in the first theaters to show these films more than a century ago, Nick.e.lo.de.on captures individual “frames” of a dancer in motion. The spotlight flickers on and off…and with the contrast of shadow and light recaptures the wonders of the human body and expression. Meet Nick, the dancer/model, inspiring this series. 11-5 pm. Details.

  • Southold Opera: La Boheme by Puccini at Southold Opera, Southold. Please join us for one of the most beloved operas of all time. This timeless opera tells the story of a group of young artists falling in love in the heart of Paris, only to be stopped short by the heroine developing a fatal illness.   • Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery: Hybrid: Roz Dimon, Colin Goldberg, Han Qin, Cutchogue. Featuring works by regional artists Roz Dimon, Colin Goldberg, and Han Qin - each artist combining digital technology with various artistic disciplines including painting, drawing, photography, and printmaking in their creative processes. An artist working in the forefront of digital art practices since 1984, Roz Dimon has created a multi-layered, interactive painting she calls, a DIMONscape® – a single digitally collaged image composed of numerous photographs and digital drawings that is presented in a lightbox.  On exhibit is the DIMONscape®, Pale Male: A Pilgrimage - a symbolic, spiritual and iconographic work created in response to the September 11 attacks. 12 – 5pm Details.

Splitting her time between Manhattan and Amagansett, Michele Dragonetti’s photos primarily focus on the hulls of maritime vessels, capturing them from a looming vantage that highlights their symmetry and geometry. 7-9pm.
