Friday, the Southold Historical Society holds its annual candlelight tour of its complex of historic buildings, culminating in a tree lighting and carols. Visit with Santa too. Also Friday, The Old Field offers free samples of mulled wine. All weekend, the Hallockville Museum Farm hosts its Country Parlor Arts and Crafts Show, a unique opportunity to shop for unique, hand crafted gifts. Saturday the Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society holds a holiday open house and tree lighting.

Special Holiday Shopping

For the next few weeks, the North Fork will host special pop up shops and fairs offering the kind of top notch, handcrafted creations never found in big box stores. Our downtown mom & pop shops also offer high quality unique items as well. This weekend features a particularly big one--the annual arts and crafts festival at Hallockville--and several 'Black Friday' specials at vineyards.

The Old Field offers free mulled wine on Friday, Sparkling Pointe pairs brut and winter truffles, the Hellenic Snack Bar and Restaurant closes for the season with a Fare Thee Well party, Pindar continues champaign & caviar, Osprey's Dominion offers specials all weekend and other vineyards offer case specials & more.

Live Music

Martha Clara stages a retro 70s concert Friday night, and other vineyards host live music throughout the weekend.

Clovis Point Vineyards is collecting food and toys, as part of its Long Island Cares-Harry Chapin Food Drive (through November 23rd) and its Toys for Tots Christmas effort (through December 10). When you visit them, bring a donation. Thanks Clovis!

  • Greenport Harbor Brewing: New Stories Simply ToldGreenport.  North Fork artist Peter Treiber Jr. Creating both locally on his family farm- where he also works-and at his studio space at the Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn, Treiber uses his artwork as a means of dissection and discovery. Using reclaimed wood and fragments from vintage magazines, his work strives to discover the limits of the materials, thereby reinventing them and placing them in a new context and new narrative that evokes both the surreal and the satirical. Treiber’s wall mounted sculptures playfully mock rustic hunting trophies, while his paper collages range from absurd adverts to faded antique shop finds, all which bear a charming simplicity.
