Lots to do Saturday with a BBQ Pop-up at Corey Creek Tap Room and Brunch at Sparkling Pointe in Southold, a Disco Party at Halyard in Greenport, and ongoing holiday gift boutiques and an Artisan Pop-up at East End Arts in Riverhead.   • Long Island Aquarium: Fish & Sips, Riverhead. Join us for our 10th annual Fish & Sips wine tasting event! With more than 20 local wineries in attendance, tasting and purchase opportunities accompanied with live music, this will surely be a great evening. 7 – 10:30 pm. Details.
  • Suffolk Theater: Joplin's Pearl starring Amber Ferrari, Riverhead. An incomparable and uncanny tribute to the great Janis Joplin, performed by LI's own Amber Ferrari, voted "Best of Long Island" four years in a row for singer (along with two songs on the Billboard charts). Amber's shows are fully-staged with costumes, audience participation and an outstanding 9 piece band. 8 – 11 pm. Details.
  • Little Creek Oysters: Friday Night Bites- Oysters and Pintxos at Little Creek Greenport. Starting at 7pm on Friday we'll spread the counter with a dizzying spread of skewered small bites, pour crisp cold wines and beers and wash away the week together!   • Spirit's Promise Equine Rescue Program: Food Truck Friday with Noah's, Riverhead. Come join the Veterans and First Responders for our first annual Chili Cook Off! $20 donation and proceeds to benefit the Veterans.   • Hallockville Museum Farm: Thanksgiving Table Centerpiece, Riverhead. Thanksgiving celebrates the bounty of the land and is also a chance to gather around a table with loved ones. Learn how to create your own natural Long Island Pumpkin centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring cuttings from your own garden. 9 am – 12 pm.   • Downs Farm Preserve: Identifying Trees without Leaves, Cutchogue. An interesting collection of understory and canopy trees can be found in the Downs Farm Preserve. Identifying these trees in mid-November, when most leaves have dropped, can be a bit of a challenge. Join us on a short nature walk through the Preserve’s trail system as we look for clues to the identities of these “trees without leaves”.   • Peconic Landing: Jeremy Dennis explores Native American history "On This Site", Greenport. Shinnecock Tribal member Jeremy Dennis explores indigenous and sacred locations, historical landscapes and archaeological sites located across the North Fork. Jeremy will lead us through his research-based art and photography project “On This Site” where he investigates Native American history of the North Fork. 4 – 5:30 pm. Details.

  • Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild, Inc.: Artist Reception for Helene Canberg, Cutchogue. Artist of the Month, Helene Canberg, will hold an exhibit at the through the month of November. Having been trained in both the fine and graphic arts, Helene combines them in a painterly fashion, turning ordinary household items from merely functional to decorative art2 – 4 pm. Details.
  • East End Arts: Pop Up Artisan Collective, Riverhead. In conjunction with the annual Holiday Gift Boutique, EEA is offering additional artisan shopping in the historic Fresh Pond School House – a recently renovated, charming one room school house located on the grounds of EEA.   • Riverhead Community Band: Riverhead Community Band Fall Concert Riverhead. Come in from the cold and enjoy an afternoon of musical entertainment by the Riverhead Community Band for the first time, featuring The Voices of the Peconic vocal ensemble, singing a stirring patriotic medley along with a collection of holiday numbers.   • William Ris Gallery: Sherri Wolfgang's "Nick-E-Lo-De-An," Jamesport. Sherri Wolfgang's newest series was inspired by the earliest movies which were short, flickering images creating the illusion of motion. As in the first theaters to show these films more than a century ago, Nick.e.lo.de.on captures individual “frames” of a dancer in motion. The spotlight flickers on and off…and with the contrast of shadow and light recaptures the wonders of the human body and expression. Meet Nick, the dancer/model, inspiring this series. 11-5 pm. 
  • North Fork Art Collective: Community Art ShowGreenport. We are so excited to announce our community show will be opening October 20th!   • Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery: Hybrid: Roz Dimon, Colin Goldberg, Han Qin, Cutchogue. Featuring works by regional artists Roz Dimon, Colin Goldberg, and Han Qin - each artist combining digital technology with various artistic disciplines including painting, drawing, photography, and printmaking in their creative processes. An artist working in the forefront of digital art practices since 1984, Roz Dimon has created a multi-layered, interactive painting she calls, a DIMONscape® – a single digitally collaged image composed of numerous photographs and digital drawings that is presented in a lightbox.  On exhibit is the DIMONscape®, Pale Male: A Pilgrimage - a symbolic, spiritual and iconographic work created in response to the September 11 attacks. 12 – 5pm Details.

Wendy Prellwitz, one of the South Street Gallery artists, will have some of her pieces on display at North Fork Table and Inn throughout this summer.   • Greenport Harbor Brewing Company: Artist Michele Dragonetti “Against the Current”, Greenport. On Saturday, September 16, 2017, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company will host a reception for the opening of their new exhibition, “Against the Current,” featuring the photography of Michele Dragonetti. Splitting her time between Manhattan and Amagansett, Michele Dragonetti’s photos primarily focus on the hulls of maritime vessels, capturing them from a looming vantage that highlights their symmetry and geometry. 7-9pm.
