The Highlights

Friday August 26 - Sunday August 28

Every summer Saturday offers a lighthouse cruise, but this Saturday's is special: it's about 4.5 hours long, takes you to several lighthouses, and best of all, happens for sunset.  All day Saturday and Sunday Harbes Family Farm celebrates the watermelon harvest with tons of family fun. Sunday the American Legion in Southold holds a classic car show, with live music, food & vendors along with gorgeous cars.

In addition to these headline events, Paumonak Vineyards is hosting a fabulous feast in the vines Friday night, and The Old Field offers a vertical chardonnay tasting on Sunday. 'Elvis' performs at Porto Bello, and dozens of other concerts, some aimed at families, play up and down the fork. Support a good cause; head to Castello di Borghese Saturday night and buy some art for the Southold Historical Society.

Interesting lectures, shows and films are on offer too, including one at the Greenport Theater hosted by the North Fork Audubon Society.
