The Highlights

Friday February 24 - Sunday February 26

Winterfest begins on Friday night. This four week series blends special wine events--Art of the Vine--with special concerts--rooted in Jazz on the Vine--and more. Highlights this weekend include a special champagne class, tour and tasting at Sparkling Pointe and jazz at Pellegrini Vineyards; all the events that take place on the North Fork proper are included below. Full Winterfest listings here.

Winterfest isn't the only action in town--Friday night enjoy Crooked Ladder's beer paired with Caci's delicious food, or enjoy chocolate fondue at North Fork Chocolate. Saturday and Sunday afternoon check out model trains in Southold. Plus much more; full listings below.

Walk the vineyard with Barbara Shinn, Learn about sustainable, organic and Biodynamic wine growing. Taste four wines. 1:30 to 2:30 pm, Details. Prefer to be indoors? Tour barrel center starting at 2:30, and sample Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot among others, plus cheeses. Details.

  • Shinn Estates Vineyard & Farmhouse: ToursMattituck offers a couple of ways to experience wine and wine making.   • HD Big Screen Broadcast: The Bolshoi Ballet: A Contemporary EveningPeconic Landing Greenport. For one evening, the Bolshoi takes on a bold new challenge in Hans Van Manen’s Frank Bridge’s Variations, Sol León and Paul Lightfoot’s Short Time Together and Alexei Ratmansky’s Russian Seasons. This encounter between some of the best dancers in the world and the masters of contemporary choreography results in an outstanding synthesis, raising Van Manen’s formal beauty, León and Lightfoot’s intensity, and Ratmansky’s witty brilliance to a new level.  3-6 pm. Details
